Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP advises clients on managing business controversy and conflict, executing deals, and maintaining regulatory compliance. We provide services to companies throughout their lifecycle from purchasing a company to investigating potential fraud.

 

We are seeking qualified candidates to join the Analytic & Forensic Technology - Computer Forensics practice:

 

Commercial and Federal investigations and litigations increasingly rely on collecting, preserving and analyzing vast amounts of data to help tell the whole story. The key to managing such huge volumes is turning the array of data into meaningful information. To this end, our Analytic and Forensic Technology (AFT) professionals combine forensic accounting and investigative skills with advanced technology to assist clients and their legal counsel.

 

Deloitte is seeking professionals to employ forensic tools and techniques to recover deleted, fragmented and corrupted data from digital media of all types, as per customer requirements.  Candidate will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and perform forensic imaging and extraction of digital information and be experienced with cyber evidence handling procedures.

 

This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland.

  Basic Experience/Qualifications:


  • BA/BS degree with 3+ years of computer forensics experience to include a strong understanding of forensic data collection, chain of  custody, and rules of evidence

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

  • Strong technical experience in troubleshooting personal computers and servers and an understanding of networking concepts and experience in working with networked systems

  • Proficient in the use of EnCase, Forensic Toolkit, DCFLDD, Ximager, Ilook, Safeback, SMART or open source (Linux) forensic tools  

  • EnCE certification or eligibility to take and pass the exam within 1 year from date of hire

 

Additional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Inventory digital evidence per ASCLD/Rules of Evidence.
  • Analyze deleted and active files to include system hidden and understand Date and Time Stamp Principles
  • Locate and analyze data in ambient data sources of digital media to include file slack, unallocated clusters, or unused disk area
  • Understanding and ability to decrypt password protected files/data
  • Perform Functional analysis of executable files on operating systems
  • Ability to perform within an ASCLD management system and maintain all the requirements
  • An understanding of file system types and hard disk drive structures
  • Strong networking and TCP/IP skills, CFCE certification and a strong understanding of Windows based systems including installing, troubleshooting, and networking experience (to include Linux and UNIX)  is a plus
