Trans Western Polymers is looking for an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician. In your role as a Maintenance Technician, you will service and repair manufacturing equipment at our facility. We have three openings for a Maintenance Technician. Two of these are temporary with the potential of becoming permanent, in which you would work a ten-hour shift Thursday through Sunday, either 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The third opening is a permanent position in which you would work a twelve-hour shift, alternating 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week, with every other weekend being mandatory.

The Maintenance Technician position will involve:

• Troubleshooting malfunctioning or under-performing equipment
• Documenting production, repair and machine maintenance information
• Inspecting or testing damaged machine parts and marking defective areas or advising supervisors of repair needs
• Installing, replacing or changing machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
• Collaborating with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment

Job Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide a full range of mechanical repair and maintenance services.

Your specific duties as a Maintenance Technician will include:

• Starting machines and observing mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
• Lubricating or applying adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts or other equipment, according to specified procedures
• Dismantling machines and removing parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes or hoists
• Reassembling machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
• Reading work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
• Setting up and operating machines and adjusting controls to regulate operations
