Job details:

The Manager, Software Development is a developer who supports Showtime's digital initiatives for web, mobile, tablet, and interactive television applications. Areas of focus will include middleware and back-end Java web development. The Manager, Software Developer also serves as manager and advisor for more junior developers.

Principal responsibilities will include:

DEVELOPMENT: Assume accountability for the success of new applications and projects; use best practices in software development, including MVC pattern, Dependency Injection, and RESTful Web Services; create reusable components that are scalable and easily maintained; facilitate communication with web producers in order to provide them with back-end data solutions for Rich Internet Clients.

TEAM LEADERSHIP: Manage team of several developers, assisting in administrative tasks and fostering team member growth; advise technical team on implementations; promote standards, usability concepts and best practices; work with management to streamline the development process

The Manager, Software Development reports to the Senior Director of Technology but must have the ability to think and act independently.
