Wireless Systems Intern

Job details:


Work as part of the Standards & WWAN Ecosystem(SWE) within Intel---s Mobility Wireless Group (MWG) to develop simulation and system performance evaluation tools to evaluate and study various wireless network, protocols and cross layer design. The position requires solid understanding of wireless communication principles in particular in MAC and network layers protocols. Knowledge of PHY layer is an asset. The candidate must be a creative and self motivated problem solver. Knowledge in wireless systems such as 3GPP, WiMAX, WiFi and 3GPP2 is an asset. SWE is a team responsible for wireless standards in Intel.


The responsibilities include:

--- Develop protocols and network simulation tools

--- Evaluate performance of various wireless network, protocols, cross layer design

--- Provide recommendations on wireless network, protocols, cross layer design enhancements 

Qualifications


--- PhD or MS student

--- Solid understanding of wireless access protocols, in particular MAC and network layers protocols.

--- Knowledge of PHY layer and cross MAC/PHY design and inter-dependency is an asset.

--- Knowledge in wireless systems such as 3GPP, WiMAX, WiFi, and 3GPP2

--- Experience with MAC and network protocols simulation

--- Strong knowledge and experience in using C/C++, Matlab, and other network simulation tools. Experience with OPNET is an asset.

--- Excellent analytical skills

--- Self motivated, proactive and good team player

--- Excellent communications skills and documentation/writing skills
